Big districts face some of the biggest challenges when it comes to implementing a complete edtech solution. Their needs range from ensuring compatibility with currently used devices and platforms to providing comprehensive training for teachers and staff. And of course, security and easy panel management are also must haves.

Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD)

The Napa Valley Unified School District was able to design an exemplary education technology program despite having a sprawling district of 29 schools with 17,000 students, the majority of whom are socioeconomically disadvantaged.

According to NVUSD Superintendent Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, the district’s program was built with Promethean panels in mind. “Promethean was absolutely a key component to our technology integration plan,” she noted.

There are close to 35,000 private schools in the United States alone, and each one of them has their own unique style and situation. Some are just starting to address their technology needs, while others are paving the way toward a true technology revolution.

Ron Clark Academy

Ron Clark Academy is most certainly an example of an edtech trailblazer. This middle school in Southeast Atlanta believes that all children can succeed given the proper tools and support—and that includes access to the best technology.

As Junior Bernadin, dean of students and director of technology, explained: “When I think of Promethean and what that technology has done for us over these 13 years, I think it’s helped us enhance our ability to innovate education, to demonstrate that to educators from all across the world, and to do it while having our students enjoy the art of learning.”

Take a closer look at this extraordinary school and how it’s leading an edtech revolution.

Institutions of higher learning have found many ways of using the ActivPanel in their courses, and that includes everything from science and math to art and architecture. Screen sharing, the infinite whiteboard. and three-dimensional modeling are a few favorites.

Boston Architectural College

As the president of Boston Architectural College, Dr. Mahesh Daas had led the way in finding new, innovative ways to integrate technology into the classroom. He’s particularly interested in combining real-world and virtual experiences to push the envelope when it comes to edtech.

Daas is a big proponent of Promethean’s infinite whiteboard, which encourages experimentation. “I’m a firm believer that sand is better than turf, because people can fall down in the sand,” he explained. “I tell folks, ‘Here is a pen, feel free to scribble what you think.’ So, they can feel free not to worry about anything being precious. That’s the environment in which I saw Promethean technology come in.”

The COVID pandemic forced almost every school in the world to grapple with the problem of remote and hybrid learning. Innovative educators found creative ways to reach students in these environments, and many of them used Promethean solutions to do it.

Christ Episcopal School

Christ Episcopal School (CES) in Covington, Louisiana, had chosen to outfit all of its classrooms with Promethean interactive panels just a few months before the pandemic hit. So by the time the school opened back up and went into hybrid mode in the fall of 2020, it was ready to provide the best educational experience possible to all of its students.

Bob Kreiger, the school’s IT administrator, remembered when that big shipment of brand new ActivPanel displays arrived in the summer of 2020, right before teachers returned to school. “It was almost like here, have a present that may actually help you,” he recalled. “It made them happy to come to school.”

Read about how Kreiger and CES teachers use the ActivPanel to take their curricula to the next level.
