In June 2022, Promethean announced it had entered into a US-based exclusive distribution agreement with Merlyn Mind, Inc, maker of the world’s first digital assistant for teachers. With the agreement, Promethean distributes Symphony Classroom™, the artificial intelligence (AI) solution that brings the Merlyn digital assistant to teachers.
Merlyn is built on the Android operating system and has been integrated with Google since its inception. Users log on with their Google credentials and can use the power of their voice to control the Chrome browser and Google apps such as Google Drive, Google Slides, and YouTube, among others.
Now Merlyn users can log in with their Microsoft credentials and use their voice to control the Edge browser and browser-based PowerPoint presentations. SharePoint and other tools will be available in the near future.
This move offers districts operating on the Microsoft platform the ability to seamlessly leverage the power of Merlyn. Together, Promethean and Merlyn Mind are continuing to push the limits with innovative classroom solutions that transform learning and collaboration. The integration of Merlyn with Microsoft applications is now available.
