Promethean has helped the Nawaka District school near Nadi, Fiji, to realise an ambition of creating a modern classroom environment with the donation of three ActivPanels.
Although the school is in a rural area, The Chief had a dream of creating an educational facility which would not only greatly educate the people of his village but also attract other children from neighbouring villages. Putting ICT at the heart of this plan, fundraising enabled The Nawaka Educational Charitable Trust to establish a dedicated computer suite equipped with technologies to support teaching and learning.
As a company committed to improving teaching and learning environments worldwide using technology, Promethean was proud to support Nawaka School in developing its ICT facilities even further with the addition of the ActivPanels.
Commenting on the impact the technology has had since installation, Mr Kumar, headteacher at Nakawa District School, said: “Having access to the Promethean interactive flat panels has enabled us to give our students the very best in what teaching and learning can offer – comparable with what is available in more developed Western countries. The training and continued support provided by Promethean as part of the partnership has proven invaluable for ensuring we are using the technology to its maximum potential, which is reflected in our school roll – we are now fully subscribed as students travel from far and wide.”
