Customer story: The administrator’s role in effective technology adoption

Aldine ISD's Professional Development Program

Published: August 3rd, 2020

Many schools and districts dedicate a significant amount of time evaluating the right technology to purchase for their schools, but do they dedicate as much time to create a plan to train leaders on effective technology adoption? For Aldine Independent School District this was one of their top priorities and part of their overall success.

Aldine ISD serves over 68,000 students in more than 70 K-12 schools. After the district received a bond earmarked for the construction of new schools, renovations, and enhancements, the district created a five-year plan to renovate and enhance the district’s classrooms to meet its growth needs. One part of the program is Innovate Academy, a program for Aldine’s administrators to think differently inside the classroom.

As Aldine upgraded its technology district-wide, it was important for them to create an environment that supported digital learning.

“Devices would have been rendered useless without a rich digital foundation. Our teachers needed to be exposed to and trained on new instructional methodologies and pedagogy.” Nguyen Bui, Executive Director of Technology

Innovation Academy provides technology-rich professional development experiences for school leaders who are passionate about developing future-ready schools and inspiring a growth mindset with their teachers and the community.
