Promethean® European Accessibility Act (EAA) statement

3 minute read

At Promethean, we are committed to making our products accessible to as many people as possible. We believe that technology should empower all users, regardless of their abilities. We recognize the importance of inclusive design and are dedicated to complying with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).

Our aim is to ensure that our portfolio of software applications and hardware devices meets the accessibility requirements outlined by the EAA.

Our commitment to accessibility:

  • Products are designed to be compatible with assistive technologies where feasible and relevant, allowing for interaction with external devices and software.
  • Accessible information about our products, including features and instructions for use, is provided through multiple formats including digital manuals that can be read by screen readers, accessible website content, and on-screen menus.
  • Physical buttons are well-spaced and clearly labeled with legible text and universally recognized icons.
  • Visual information is provided with sufficient contrast and adjustable brightness where feasible and relevant.
  • Navigation through on-screen menus can be performed using touch and remote control.
  • Where feasible we support full keyboard navigation, ensuring that content can be interpreted reliably by a wide range of user agents, including assistive technologies.
  • User interfaces are designed with clear and consistent layouts. Language used is simple and unambiguous.
  • Volume controls are easily accessible and provide a wide range of adjustment including a mute function.

Ongoing efforts:

Promethean is committed to continuously improving the accessibility of products. We incorporate accessibility considerations into every stage of our product development lifecycle and monitor evolving standards and technologies.
