(Blackburn, 14th November 2014) – Global education technology company Promethean, has for the second year running, been shortlisted in three categories of the highly respected Bett Awards.
Following the first round of judging, Promethean has been confirmed as a finalist in the following categories:
- ICT Company of the Year (over £10m turnover)
- ICT Exporter of the Year
- Free Digital Content
After being awarded the coveted title of ICT Exporter of the Year in the 2014 Bett Awards, Promethean feels especially proud to yet again be recognised as a finalist in three categories. Ian Curtis, Head of Western Europe, Africa & ANZ, comments: “Bett is the major event in our annual events calendar and the Bett Awards continue to be a benchmark of excellence in education technology. To be shortlisted in one category would have been great – but to be a finalist in all of the three main awards we entered is very humbling.”
While overall contribution to the education sector is a major criterion in the company categories, ‘Free Digital Content’ focuses on factors such as innovation and ease of use, with this shortlist recognising Promethean’s ClassFlow™ – a cloud-based tool that enables teachers to create and deliver interactive, multimedia lessons across multiple classroom technologies.
ClassFlow is scheduled for official release in the UK during Bett 2015 – making the award short list an even bigger accolade: “The take up by UK teachers has been phenomenal,” continues Curtis. “Teacher registrations for accounts at Bett 2014 indicate that ClassFlow will be popular, and we have already seen teachers utilising the tool to greatly increase student motivation and ultimately create more powerful learning experiences.”
According to the Bett Awards, this has been another record-breaking year for entries with a 20 percent increase in submissions overall. Considered by many as the most esteemed accolade in the industry, the Bett Awards provide a showcase of resources and companies that seek to provide educators with the information, ideas and inspiration that are fundamental to the learning process.
Winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony on Wednesday 21st January 2015 at The Brewery, London.
