New initiative to celebrate innovation in schools throughout the UAE

(DUBAI – 27 February 2019) – Global education technology provider, Promethean, has launched the Promethean Grant at GESS Dubai for schools throughout the United Arab Emirates. This creative competition is an opportunity for schools throughout the region to showcase their creativity and innovation, with the best entries being rewarded with one of 10 award-winning ActivPanels.

With the aim of encouraging creativity within classroom environments, Promethean is inviting schools in the Middle East to submit an innovative video entry which explains the need for new technology and the impact this would have.

Jon McDermott, Promethean’s Head of Central Asia and the Middle East, commented: “Technology represents a real opportunity to support innovation in teaching environments. After the success of the Grant in other international markets, we are extremely excited to open it up to the UAE. It gives schools throughout the region the chance to showcase their creativity with the very best set to emerge with the coveted status as a Promethean Grant winner.”

Judged by a panel of experienced educators, one of the guest judges will be Promethean’s Senior Education Consultant, Dr John Collick. Looking explicitly for creative and innovative energy in entries, the judges will be giving the schools a chance to show how winning an ActivPanel will transform their teaching and learning programmes.

Launched in the UKI and ANZ markets in 2017, and extended throughout other international markets in 2018, the Promethean Grant has proven to be a huge success by providing schools with an opportunity to win the latest technology.

Nominations for the Promethean Grant are now being accepted and can be produced in either Arabic and English. The final closing date for submissions is 14 April 2019.
