(ATLANTA – June 27, 2014) – Promethean, a global leader in educational technology, today announced its ClassFlow Student application for Windows 8 and single sign-on integration with Microsoft Office 365. ClassFlow is the new “all-in-one” interactive lesson orchestration platform for creating and delivering interactive multimedia lessons in today’s connected classroom. With ClassFlow, teachers can easily share the interactive lessons being delivered on front-of-classroom digital surfaces such as interactive whiteboards to any student-owned devices running Windows 8, like Surface Pro tablets and Windows RT-enabled devices.
“The launch of ClassFlow Student for Windows 8 builds on Promethean’s promise to support the leading operating systems used by schools to deliver the collaborative, interactive and real-time assessment technologies that allow educators to personalize learning,” said Scott Cary, Chief Marketing and Products Officer of Promethean. “Technology has redefined how we connect, share and learn. By engaging students through technology in the classroom, we can motivate learning while also supporting teachers with tools to differentiate instruction at the point of learning.”
“As schools make the transformational shift to a digital learning environment, tools like ClassFlow are essential for educators,” said Andrew Ko, general manager, U.S. Partners in Learning at Microsoft Corp. “ClassFlow can efficiently deliver the immersive learning experience students need on familiar Windows 8 devices.”
In addition to assisting schools in maximizing their Windows 8 technology investments and one-to-one initiatives, ClassFlow Student for Windows 8 also enhances the interactive response assessment and polling capabilities of ClassFlow, fostering fluid communication between teachers and students as well as offering in-the-moment assessment of student understanding. Like Windows 8, ClassFlow is optimized for touch capability and offers an enriched user experience when the two are employed together.
Promethean is also introducing a single sign-on integration feature that allows educators to log into ClassFlow using their existing Microsoft Office 365 credentials. The streamlined process helps teachers already using Office 365 easily gain access to their lesson content in ClassFlow without the need to manage multiple usernames and passwords. Once logged into the platform, educators will also appreciate the ability to retrieve content from their OneDrive and search Bing from within ClassFlow to build lessons.
ClassFlow Student for Windows 8 will be available for download on July 1 from the Windows Store.
