ClassFlow software complies with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

(SEATTLE – April 19, 2018) Promethean, a global education technology leader, was recognized by iKeepSafe, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, for the compliance of ClassFlowTM with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). As part of the achievement, the next-generation of lesson delivery software ensures that parents remain in control of the personal information that websites and other online services can collect from their young children.

“Promethean continues to be committed to safeguarding students in every way,” said Chris Woerner, Vice President and Head of Software Product Management, Promethean. “Topping that list includes our commitment to protecting the personal information of young children using our software. As one of the first companies to sign the Student Privacy Pledge and to receive iKeepSafe’s FERPA and California Student Privacy certifications last year, Promethean is committed to meeting the security and privacy requirements of our users.”

“The iKeepSafe COPPA Safe Harbor Certification program ensures that practices surrounding collection, use, maintenance and disclosure of personal information from children are consistent with principles and requirements COPPA,” said iKeepSafe CEO and President Holly Hawkins. “We Congratulate Promethean on earning this elite certification, and applaud their commitment to safeguarding student data.”

To receive the COPPA badge, iKeepSafe conducted a thorough manual and technical review of ClassFlow to assess its compliance with iKeepSafe Privacy Assessment guidelines. Once the privacy assessors concluded that the software complied, ClassFlow received the COPPA badge and a product profile on iKeepSafe that summarizes and communicates how it protects student data privacy and security.

Designed by teachers for teachers, ClassFlow is a cloud-based software that allows educators to present engaging lessons that energize the classroom. With ClassFlow, teachers have access to advanced classroom collaboration tools, such as instant polling and quizzes and millions of educational resources and activities.
