Promethean gives back: Team members donate time to local nonprofits, supporting children worldwide

promethean gives back, corporate social responsibility

Published: March 22nd, 2022

For the past eight years, Promethean’s Give Back challenge has encouraged team members across the globe to volunteer their time at charities and nonprofit organizations. As part of our corporate social responsibility program, to motivate participation, each employee receives two paid days every year to use toward volunteering at a local organization of their choosing.

While interrupted by COVID in 2020, the challenge returned in 2021, and volunteer hours are on the rise. Giving 178 hours of their time, employees volunteered individually and in small teams to support a variety of organizations, including schools, universities, foodbanks, and conservation groups.

To increase the impact, Promethean committed to a donation of $10 for every hour worked, with all the funds going to an employee-selected organization. In past years, Promethean has made donations to Children in Need and Barnardo’s, among other charities.

After the 2021 challenge ended and all volunteer hours were reported, employees had the opportunity to vote for one of five charities to receive the funds. This year, we are honored to support Save the Children. Founded in 1919, Save the Children is a global advocate for children’s rights, providing education, nourishment and health care, protection from violence, and safe spaces during crises and emergencies. Promethean is proud to donate $10,000 to the organization, the biggest single gift the company has made as part of the Give Back challenge.
