Older generations of interactive boards for classrooms relied on projector-based technology. These systems worked by connecting a laptop or computer to a projector, which then projected an image on to an interactive whiteboard. These projector systems would often require periodic maintenance to replace bulbs, filters, and even the projector itself.
Today’s range of interactive displays for education (such as the Promethean ActivPanel Titanium and Nickel models) are based on LED technology and do not require a separate projector unit, and therefore, are practically maintenance-free with much longer lifespans than older projector-based systems.
