During the event, you’ll learn how to access pre-made resources on Learn Promethean and the Resource Library. Includes a live demonstration of how to make interactive activities within the ActivPanel whiteboard and ActivInspire.
Katie Marx is the Head of Regional PD for NYC, Academy and Curriculum Manager at Promethean. She is a former middle and high school teacher of 10 years in a suburb just outside of Pittsburgh where she taught with Promethean hardware and software. For the past 6 years, she has been sharing her love of Promethean with teachers around the country so they can also implement and experience the benefits of Promethean in their classrooms! Katie currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA.
Elyse Langer joined Promethean as an Education Consultant for the New England region after 20 years in traditional and alternative educational settings. She has a B.S. in Communications from NYU and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She began her adventures as a teacher by instructing and then managing outdoor education programs. Later, she spent eleven years as a classroom educator, teaching public Montessori elementary school and then middle school science. As a science enthusiast, one of the highlights of her teaching career was earning a scholarship to attend Space Academy for Teachers at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. When she is not enthusiastically delivering Promethean trainings, you can find Elyse singing with her local rock choir, doing voiceover projects, or working on her goal to visit all U.S. states and world continents!
Ryan Thornton was a second-grade teacher in Brooklyn for eight years before joining Promethean in 2018. He has always enjoyed teaching what he knows and loves, including geography, writing, math, music, and nature. Although his touring days are over, Ryan will always be a drummer as he continues to record as a session drummer for various podcasts and established artists. He is also a self-proclaimed Delaware River tubing/kayaking adventure guide. He loves that his new career path is helping teachers teach with their Promethean technology and he has a great time doing it.
Lacy Dasch is the South Texas Education Consultant with Promethean. She taught science for ten years and has a Master’s in Instructional Design. She is also a Promethean Certified Teacher, Google Level 2 Certified Teacher, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and a Certified Apple Teacher. Lacy currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, three dogs, one ball python, and a beta fish and enjoys reading, sports, and traveling.
Julie Porter is an Education Consultant for Promethean. Prior to joining the Promethean team, she worked as a K-8 music/art/theater teacher in Denver, CO. Julie also freelances as an editor and illustrator. She lives in Chula Vista, California, with her husband Bob, daughter Lilia, and many pets.
Gretchen joined the Promethean Team in January 2022 as the Education Consultant over Promethean Live. She delivers live and customized virtual demonstrations to our customers in the United States and Canada. Prior to joining Promethean Gretchen was a lower elementary school teacher. Most of her time in education was spent teaching Kindergarten in Alpharetta, Georgia but she also spent time teaching First Grade, Second Grade and delivering research-based interventions to students in grades K-5 as an EIP teacher. She received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at the University of West Georgia. During her time in the classroom Gretchen was passionate about engaging classroom management strategies and student-led learning!
Megan Van Wart is a former Middle School teacher, Instructional Coach and Staff Developer. As a member of the Educational Consultant team at Promethean, she uses her unique skill set and experience to help teachers set and achieve instructional goals using ActivPanels and ActiviInspire. She currently works with hundreds of teachers in Allentown School District in Eastern Pennsylvania. She has a passion for Social Studies, encouraging critical thinking skills and enhancing classroom experiences for teachers and students in meaningful ways.
Lindsay Lourcey is a Senior Instructional Designer for Promethean. Previously, she was an integral member of the Promethean Education Consultant team for 6 years within the North Florida region. Lindsay spent 6 years in the classroom teaching Reading and Language Arts in Duval County, Florida. In her free time, Lindsay loves to read, travel, and spend time with her husband, 1 year old son and beloved dog, Stella.
