Let’s get ready to… reform!

Published: March 18th, 2016

Following the publication of Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan’s schools white paper yesterday, we’ve digested what’s in store for the next 5 years and consulted the best write-ups from across the ed-web to bring you the most hard hitting highlights.

The education white paper – Educational Excellence Everywhere – states that it ‘sets out our plans for the next 5 years, building on and extending our reforms to achieve educational excellence everywhere’… which it will do by addressing some key areas such as:

  • Recruitment (Chapter 2)
  • Leadership (Chapter 3)
  • Academy Status – every school to become an Academy by 2020 (Chapter 4)
  • Funding (Chapter 8)

The TES does an excellent job of decoding what the paper intends for education.

While Schools Weeks reports that the seemingly controversial Academy status aim is not a ‘magic wand’.

The Guardian focuses on the shake-up of the parent governor role.
