New changes implemented to bolster regional operations

Promethean has announced a series of changes to the structure of its UK, Ireland and Asia Pacific leadership team, aimed at strengthening its market leadership and extending channel expertise throughout the regions.

Under the improved structure, Alistair Hayward will take the newly created position of Head of UKI and Asia Pacific, while Jim Wallis steps up as Head of UKI. Additionally, Simon Port’s remit will expand as he becomes Head of Channel Operations UKI and Asia Pacific.

Promethean is experiencing exceptional market success in the IFPD space, throughout 2019 the company substantially grew its market share, elevating itself to become the global market leader. As a brand synonymous with education, Promethean has achieved this position through the development of the award-winning ActivPanel and a wider service offering beyond the hardware that resonates with teachers and students internationally. This has been underpinned by the development of strong channel partnerships that have bolstered Promethean’s offering.

In his new role as Head of UKI and Asia Pacific, Alistair Hayward will be assuming responsibility for the wider Asia Pacific region. This organisational change will enable Promethean to provide further focus in regions where there is potential for significant growth, aligning teams and the channel to share knowledge, skills and resources to accelerate market growth in these territories. “The new structure is symbolic of very exciting times for Promethean and all of our channel partners. By taking these steps, we will be well equipped to grow our global market leadership even further, but most importantly, enhance our service delivery to partners and end users through an improved business structure.”

As a flagship territory, to ensure continued growth in the UKI Promethean has appointed former Head of Strategic Opportunities, Jim Wallis as Head of UKI. Jim brings a wealth of experience to the role having established and grown the Strategic Opportunities team, nurtured strong relationships with end users and partners, and championed excellent service and support. For the past four years, Jim has led the partnership approach with end users and partners in the UK and Ireland which has been adopted as a successful blueprint for the business internationally.

In addition to his responsibility for channel operations in the UK and Ireland, Simon Port will be stepping up to manage channel activity across the Asia Pacific region. Simon has pioneered Promethean’s industry-leading Partner Accreditation Programme that has helped establish a strong network of channel partners who share the same values as Promethean. This includes the new Promethean Installation Accreditation Training that was successfully launched in the UK last year. In his new role Simon will focus on enhancing channel operations across Asia Pacific.

While the restructure of the Promethean UKI & Asia Pacific Leadership Team came into effect in March 2020, the changes had in fact been planned for some time. In the current global climate, this robust team and enhanced operations will play a pivotal role in supporting the channel now, more than ever.
