Blackburn UK, 6 July 2022 – Global education technology company, Promethean, has sponsored the Gaelic Athletic Association’s (GAA) ‘Wexford Fittest Schools’ competition by donating an ActivPanel for the winning school.

The competition, which took place in May, raised an incredible €15,000 to provide vital funding for the GAA Wexford schools coaching programme.

Featuring a variety of exciting time trials, advanced obstacle races, and other endurance-based activities, the competition invites participating schools to test their strength and agility through the challenges but also allows them to have plenty of fun at the same time.

The ‘Wexford Fittest Schools’ competition is the latest example of Promethean supporting important community projects. Sam Ecock, Ireland’s Territory Manager at Promethean, comments: “At Promethean, we’re committed to supporting students and schools in their active learning journeys. The ‘Wexford Fittest Schools’ competition is a great example of taking the active quality we love to see in the classroom and transferring it to an outdoor environment. It’s a terrific initiative that really gives back to the wider community and something Promethean is proud to have sponsored.”

With Castlebridge National School emerging as this year’s winner, they are now set to benefit from the installation of a Promethean ActivPanel.

Explaining why Promethean’s sponsorship was greatly appreciated, Gavin O’Donovan, CEO of Wexford GAA, concludes: “Working alongside our amazing industry partners has been totally invaluable in enabling us to reach our fundraising targets, and it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t have been able to do it without them! The money we have raised through the competition will play a vital role in funding the GAA coaching programme, which delivers best-practice sports training to schools based in Wexford. Thank you, Promethean. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
