This week is the kick-off of the 2013 Digital Learning Revolution Tour (DLR tour), a revolutionary movement by the student-led nonprofit organization iSchool Initiative. These college students from Atlanta, Georgia will spend the summer helping educators build their skills and capabilities to effectively use mobile devices to support modern instructional practices.
The tour kick-off was held in the Atlanta Zoo on Saturday, June 15, during which Promethean CEO Jim Marshall said, “We believe teachers want to build skills to convert tried and true teaching practices from the traditional classroom to the modern learning environment. Our support of the 2013 DLR tour underscores our commitment to their needs and to fostering innovation in education.”
Marshall predicts that the influx of mobile devices in education is pushing the industry near a tipping point. In the first Promethean Connected Learning blog, he calls on education leaders to invest in teachers so that they can build the skills for a modern learning environment.
