Under the circumstances experienced by the country and the entire world since the beginning of this year, because of COVID 19 virus crisis, most of the Education cadres started to apply and search for e learning solutions to stay connected with students and teachers. The main purpose was to keep the same educational flow and address the same educational subjects to cover all the required themes and curriculum.
Because of this e learning process we could see two main solutions that teachers started to implement. The first batch managed to record their videos explaining to their students the concepts using the White Board. These videos were recorded by their phones, and this solution came out with a lot of issues in terms of sound clarity and image good resolution depending on the phone model that teachers are using.
As for the second batch, they started to integrate modern methods of recording lectures and one of these methods is the use of the Promethean Activboard. The best part about this was using the software ActivInspire Promethean to prepare and deliver your lessons with high accuracy in screen and sound recording. In addition to that such technology helped us to overcome the problem of capturing as well teachers’ faces, only recording the voice with the screen recording. This e learning strategy have been shared and represent by the division (Examinations Directorate) Ministry of Education through the telegram and whatsapp groups. This method got great feedback from teachers since it ensures professional quality of delivering the teaching materials in accordance with lock down period.
Since this technology is new, only some of the private schools were able to blend in their education system. The vision of Ayman Al-Ahlia Secondary School for Boys, was to motivate all teachers to integrate this way and record their lectures and share with the students through telegram. And I had the opportunity to create a YouTube channel and broadcast all the recorded videos and and share the link with my students.
In the end, we hope that this crisis will be over and our beloved students return to their their schools as soon as possible.
