"It really makes resources on the Internet extremely valuable to a lesson," Skoglund said.
The Promethean board has been a part of Skoglund's class since January. The company put the system in her class without a charge in exchange for the classroom being a "seed system" site.
As a seed system, Skoglund has agreed to allow other educators to observe the system in use.
While Skoglund's class was the first to receive the system, there are several similar classrooms in District 70.
"I think it would be great to have in every classroom," she said. "I know (Principal Marty) Mrs. Rahl would like to have one in every classroom here."
The entire system costs an estimated $5,000 each.
But, Skoglund said the benefits are priceless.
"It provides instant feedback, which as a teacher is great," Skoglund said. "I can see immediately whether my students are understanding what I'm teaching."
Seven-year-old Yasmin Shallufy said she likes working on math problems on the whiteboard.
"There are all kinds of math problems that we can do on the whiteboard," Yasmin said. "It makes it much more fun to work on the problems when they are on the whiteboard."
Classmate, John Reese, 8, agreed.
