Registration

Registering your new Promethean ActivBoards and Projectors is quick and easy and upgrades your Standard Warranty to Promethean ActivCare, which extends the length of your warranty. You may also activate your Promethean ActivCare Plus warranty enhancements which can improve the level of service you receive from Promethean. You can do this by providing your activation code found on your Promethean ActivCare Plus Warranty card.

Terms and Conditions for Registration of Products and Activation of Warranties
The capitalised terms herein have the same definitions as those set forth in the Warranty Terms and Conditions. 1

1. In order for Promethean to properly service its Customers under the various Warranty offerings, Promethean must obtain information about the Customers and the Products they have purchased and installed. To capture this information, Promethean enables registration of products and activation of Enhanced Warranties via two mechanics only:

a. The Global Installation Database (“GID”) which is accessible by Certified Installers and Registered Installers. Certified Installer and Registered Installers shall apply for access to the GID via a web-form accessed from the link found on the Promethean Partner Portal.2

b. The End-User Registration (”EUR”) capability which is accessible by any party wishing to register products or activate warranty enhancements on behalf of an organisation. End Users wishing to register products or activate warranty enhancements shall need to create an account (if not done previously).2

2. Any misuse or incorrect use of either of these mechanics either wittingly or otherwise will render any and all fraudulent registrations or activations as null and void.

3. It is the responsibility of the registrar to ensure all contact details provided for a registered Customer are correct and monitored by a responsible party of the Customer as these will be used by Promethean to validate registrations as it sees fit. Should the registered details provided be found to be incorrect, Promethean will view this as in contravention of its Terms & Conditions and may at its sole discretion deem a registration null & void and therefore any and all applicable warranty terms and conditions provided as a result of a registration will also be deemed null & void.

4. It is the responsibility of the registrar of any Enhanced Warranty activations to ensure all contact details provided for a registered Customer are correct and monitored by a responsible party of the Customer as these will be used by Promethean to validate warranty activations as it sees fit. Should the registered details or activation details provided be found to be incorrect, Promethean will view this as in contravention of its Terms & Conditions and may at its sole discretion deem a registration and / or the warranty activation as null & void and therefore any and all applicable warranty terms and conditions provided as a result of a registration or activation will also be deemed null & void.

5. Mandatory fields must be completed in order for a registration to be considered effective and these fields include the following which may vary depending on which method (EUR or GID) is being utilized:

  1. Country of Installation
  2. Name of Customer
  3. Address of Customer
  4. E-mail address of Customer
  5. Name of Certified Installer/Accredited Installer
  6. Date of Installation
  7. Registrar’s name
  8. Registrar’s email address
  9. Product Type
  10. Product Serial Number
  11. Telephone Number of Customer
  12. ActivCare Plus Activation Code (s)

6. Registration of product/s via the EUR in no way infers that the installation was completed by a Certified Installer and only registrations via the GID of installations completed by a Promethean recognised Certified Installer will be recorded as being installed as such.

7. Registration of product/s on behalf of a Customer via the GID or any other mechanic made available by Promethean in no way infers ownership of the product/s by the registering party.

8. Registration of product/s on behalf of a Customer via the EUR or any other mechanic made available by Promethean in no way infers ownership of the product/s by the registering party.

9. Promethean views a registration via the EUR / GID or any other method made available by Promethean is done with approval of the registered Customer and it is the Registrar’s responsibility to ensure this approval is sought from the registered Customer. Promethean cannot be held responsible for seeking approval from the registered Customer or held liable in the instances where Customers are registered without their prior consent.

10. Parties registering on behalf of a Customer via the EUR are responsible for obtaining approval from the organization prior to registration. Promethean views registration completed via End User Registration as done on behalf of the registered Customer and will view these registrations as belonging to the Customer not the individual completing the registration.

11. Registration by an authorized party via the GID must be completed within 30 days from Installation. After this time Promethean may not recognize Products as being validly registered. If registration is not confirmed on the GID, proof of installation may be required by Promethean when servicing a warranty claim. If such proof is found to be insufficient, the warranty claim will only be serviced under the Standard Warranty Terms & Conditions.

12. Registration by a party representing the Customer on behalf of whom the registration is being completed via the EUR must be completed within 90 days of Installation. After this time Promethean may not recognize Products as being validly registered and therefore warranty claims for these Products will only be serviced under the Standard Warranty Terms & Conditions. If registration is not confirmed on the EUR, proof of installation will be required by Promethean to determine what Warranty Service Level the Product is entitled to.

13. Promethean reserves the right to remove any registrations which are completed in contravention to any of its Terms and Conditions.
