Visualisers for Secondary Schools

Interactive, robust, engaging, yet simple to use the visualiser is a powerful new interative tool that can be used across all subject areas. The flexible arm arrangement lets you view documents, objects, static and moving from any angle and up to A3 in size. The long throw lens will also let you view objects many metres away, and combined with the powerful optical zoom, you can capture and record anything viewed onto disk. The robust structure lets you use the visualiser in all environments across the school, and the plug and play software easily lets you share the product among classes and departments.

The video capture capability is great for recording science experiments, showing a range of options and scenarios that class time doesn’t allow. The work small view big can be used in design and food technology for showing complex objects, food samples, soldering techniques, food preparation, in geography for map reading, cross – sectional areas, in history for viewing historic artefacts, in art for high quality viewing of sculpture, brush work. Every subject area can use the visualiser taking existing teaching practice and techniques and apply in an interactive and engaging way for the students.

All of this activity can be co-ordinated by the interactive whiteboard or ACTIVslate, with the ability to easily create new interactive resources or just annotate over the “live” object.

Promethean offer two solutions for the Secondary classroom, the sophisticated SDP-850DX which offers 14x optical zoom and the flexible arm construction and the popular SVP5300 with less resolution, but more powerful audio and video capture, and 16x optical zoom. Both solutions have a SRP of less than £1000.

An optional light table (the SLB-5) is available for both models to enable the use of photographic negatives.
