Promethean interactive presentation technology enriches the work environment at Nissan NMUK

Nissan is one of the World’s most innovative car producers and managers at Nissan NMUK wanted a presentation solution for their meeting rooms that matched their culture of efficiency and innovation. Plus, with over 100 regular users utilising the rooms for everything from training presentations to strategic management meetings, the solution had to be robust enough to take the strain.

What was Needed?

Nissan is one of the World’s most innovative car producers and managers at Nissan NMUK wanted a presentation solution for their meeting rooms that matched their culture of efficiency and innovation. Plus, with over 100 regular users utilising the rooms for everything from training presentations to strategic management meetings, the solution had to be robust enough to take the strain.

Chris Heron, IT Controller at Nissan NMUK, explains: “In the past we had looked to portable solutions that could be moved around the site but we found that they often broke. Based on this we decided that a permanent solution was the way to go. Our requirements were pretty specific. The solution had to be innovative, quick to pick up and strong enough to stand up to sustained use by a large number of users. Also our management team rely on software packages such as Microsoft’s PowerPoint and XL so any software we employed had to be compatible.

“We decided to turn to our local AV reseller, KBR, for advice.”

The Solution

KBR advised Nissan NMUK to consider Promethean AV Distribution’s Presenta range of interactive presentation solutions and, with the help of KBR, Nissan NMUK’s Information Systems Department selected the Presenta board.

Presenta board is a simple to use interactive whiteboard, supplied with Promethean AV’s Px software. It becomes a digital display when connected to a computer, enables users to control the PC using a wireless pen at the board. Key to the functionality of the Presenta board is its Px software, which enables presenters to ‘write’ directly onto the board with the wireless pen, and use the software to annotate, highlight and otherwise manipulate presentation material.

All electronic flipchart material can then be saved in different formats to enable file sharing and re-use at a later date.

“The most common use for our boards is for management meetings where they are used as electronic flipcharts in strategic meetings and brain storms. The advantage with the Presenta board though, is that managers can save all their material for review after the meeting and can use it again at a later date.”

The Verdict

Mr Heron commented: “We were delighted with how quick the Presenta boards are to pick up. KBR provided us with a training sessions which our managers found useful and within hours they were up and running.

Nissan NMUK now have two Presenta boards in each of their two meeting rooms. Mr Heron added: “All of our managers have found the boards very simple and quick to use with the majority employing the boards for key meetings and presentations. Some have grown that attached to them that they have incorporated the boards into their roles on a regular basis.”
