Educational technology specialist, Promethean, has formed a training partnership with FantastICT, which marks the creation of the first Promethean Authorised Learning Centre. Through the appointment, FantastICT will offer a full-range of Promethean accredited training courses to schools throughout England and Wales.

FantastICT was selected by Promethean in recognition of its exceptional standard of training, and shared commitment to improving standards of interactive technology use in education. With a rapidly expanding team of trainers, all of which are former teachers, FantastICT is equipped to deliver Promethean ActivLearning courses on-site in schools or at venues nationwide. This relationship, and the designation of localised Promethean Authorised Learning Centres, is intended to be replicated by Promethean throughout its leading markets.

“Using our knowledge and expertise, we have worked with Promethean to develop an improved training option, which supports practitioners in making interactive technologies part of their pedagogy,” said, Joe Basketts, Director of FantastICT. “Recognising the importance of collaboration and peer-to-peer support in this process, FantastICT training will be delivered in the form of face-to-face workshops, enabling greater engagement and providing opportunities for sharing and interactivity.

“Training courses are designed to suit users of all skill levels, and provide opportunities for continual development,” added Joe. As part of the training package, FantastICT participants will gain free access to Promethean ActivLearning courses via a virtual learning environment (VLE) found at www.PrometheanPlanet.com/ActivLearning. This VLE allows teachers to revise and revisit topics, refresh their skills, or complete higher level training programmes in their own time and at a pace that suits. Upon completion of each level, teachers will receive a certificate that may be used as evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

Accredited to Level 3 of Promethean ActivLearning, FantastICT trainers are able to provide training for all Promethean ActivClassroom technologies up to Level 2 Curriculum Developer. As well as offering courses on using Promethean ActivBoards and accompanying ActivInspire software, FantastICT provides training on using Promethean software with other brands of interactive whiteboard across Windows, MAC and Linux platforms.
